Mechanical Engineer (Revit)

Position Overview

InNova Consulting, Inc. is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer with experience in Autodesk Revit to support the design and development of mechanical systems for infrastructure and building projects. The ideal candidate will prepare engineering calculations, develop BIM models, produce construction documents, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of design. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system projects while growing technical expertise in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare mechanical engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and system layouts in accordance with applicable codes and project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
  • Prepare and modify 2D and 3D engineering drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and other engineering software.
  • Produce plans, sections, details, schedules, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, civil, and plumbing disciplines.
  • Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection meetings to resolve design conflicts.
  • Perform field investigations, site visits, and existing condition assessments as needed.
  • Review shop drawings, equipment submittals, and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, energy codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and coordination with clients and stakeholders.
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 0–5 years of professional experience in mechanical design or engineering support.
  • Working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
  • Experience with AutoCAD; familiarity with MicroStation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CAD/BIM standards and engineering drawing preparation.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical building systems (HVAC, piping, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection tools.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or other design software.
  • Project experience in building or infrastructure mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of engineering codes and standards.
